My top priorities as Treasurer are the financial security and well-being of every resident in Oakland County, helping to support existing businesses while simultaneously recruiting new ones, and maintaining our AAA bond rating. For most people, their home is the largest investment they will make in their lifetime. I will ensure that people are able to stay and thrive in our neighborhoods.
A Strong Economy
Safeguarding our AAA Bond Rating is a necessity to keep the economic engine that is Oakland County running smoothly. I have worked closely with Executive Coulter to maintain our AAA Bond Rating. Additionally, we can grow our business and tax base by fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem that utilizes small business incubators/accelerators and by providing micro-loans. I have been strategic and thoughtful in our investments and always put our residents first.
Honesty, Integrity, and Transparency
The County Treasurer is an office created by the Michigan Constitution to serve as the banker of a county, custodian of all county funds, and collector and distributor of all revenues. It is essential to have a leader that can be trusted with the county’s ledger. As an honest, transparent, and accessible leader, I always put the people of Oakland County first.
